Jeremy Silver has been in the furniture industry for a large part of
his working life, mostly as sales director for one of the UK’s leading pine manufacturers.
"Being around furniture so much sparked a deep interest and appreciation in design
and craftsmanship, which led me to take a break from my career in 1999 to study
for a degree in furniture design. I wanted to acquire a better understanding of
what goes into the design and manufacturing of really good furniture."
After completing his degree Jeremy set up Whoosh Designs and spent about a year
making bespoke pieces before setting his sights on designing ranges for retail.
These designs were well received and have featured in such publications as Wallpape,
Arena and The Daily Telegraph.
The company was accepted to exhibit at 100% Design
in London where the
Whoosh Collection attracted the attention of Sable Island which then took over the manufacture
and distribution of the range.
Jeremy is currently working as sales director for Heritage Furnishings and designing
further ranges.
